Evangelist Duncan Comrie and Motivational speaker Brett Ellis have teamed up to race the Epic Sani2C mountain bike challenge (260km), at the end of February 2009.

The three day Subaru Sani2C event is one of South Africa’s toughest MTB stage races and attracts teams both locally and internationally.

Beginning in the Southern Drakensburg this Epic mountain bike race ends three days later on the beach at Scottbourgh.

It was only whilst slogging through the wet and cold conditions during the recent Sunday Tribune Hill2Hill Marathon (106 km), that Duncan and Brett both passionate weekend mountain bikers came to realize how their enthusiasm for mountain biking would better be linked with a greater purpose “that of raising funds for the above children’s home.”

(It was only after they completed this gruelling marathon that they approached the Sani2C organisers and managed to purchase a sort after Team entry.)

Raising funds in support of the Orphanage has for the past year been the responsibility of Durban Church of Christ an evangelical church situated in Westville.

The orphanage currently houses eight young AIDS orphans and three bedridden Gogo`s all from the Chatsworth region.

It further acts as a crèche for approx forty five day kids all who enjoy two basic meals, some well needed love and support from a few selfless volunteers from the local community.

The Orphanage is currently housed in a dilapidated and abandoned house in the Chatsworth area.

The Durban Church of Christ basically inherited this project and has employed a local Counsellor to provide the Orphans with much needed HIV & Aids related support on a day to day basis.

Clearly the needs of these unfortunate people is huge and it is therefore to this end that we invite your Company to partner with us for this exciting journey.

In principle we are of the belief that your Brand values and Company ethos are in line with our own “that of making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate”.

In summary we are aiming to explore a relationship that will generously open its heart to support that which you see as a value aligned project.

A Synergy which will act as a foundational partner during this prestigious 2009 Sani2C Adventure race fundraiser project.

Our commitment to undertake this arduous and regimented training routine (which will take us away from our own work and family commitments for up to 15 hrs a week) is to further use the momentum building up to the challenge as a springboard to collecting additional funds and pledges that will sustain the day to day expenses of the Orphanage during 2009!

We also believe that our proposed media Campaign (along with various newspaper articles and the awesome TV coverage) enjoyed by any one sponsoring a team in the 2009 Sani2C event will be hugely beneficial in driving Brand values and influencing positive market perceptions during such a worthy cause.

  • Our Team consists of Duncan Comrie –DCOC Evangelist & Brett Ellis- Team Attitude Inspirational Speaker. ( we are both respectable mountain bikers and are capable of attaining the condition required to do our Sponsor Brand proud during the three day event)
  • Our Media campaignWe have the Legs Do you have the Heart in 2009?” ( articles and stories in the local press ,web blogs and fund raisers ,aimed at highlighting the Orphanage need and principle sponsors support)
  • The request we make of you our Principle sponsor is to finance the Teams Race entry (an investment of Twenty thousand rand- attached schedule available)
  • The team will then strive to match and better this investment by collecting pledges as we invite the hearts and minds of both local business and community leaders to commit.
  • Our Mission is to initially collect twelve months worth of financial support to sustain the Orphanage during 2009.(foundation for the greater vision of “building a safe and secure care giving environment” during 2009)

If your Company is excited about the prospect of this venture then we would love to meet with you to explore an invitation to you being our principle sponsor.

Should your company already be committed to making a difference elsewhere we thank you for taking the time to pass our information on by referring others to www.teamattitude.co.za Blog page.

Yours Sincerely
